Blue Flower

In May 2018 we had a visit from Andrew Thompson, whose father used to fish at the Bone Mill.  We took a photo of him in a similar spot to where his father had a photo taken in 1959.

Andrew told us: My father, Leslie Thompson, was a Chief Technician at RAF Marham from 1951 to 1966, when the V-bombers were stationed there. He was also a keen angler and we used to go fishing at Ten Mile Bank, Stradsett Lake and the Norfolk Broads. He would also fish the River Nar; pike in the winter and trout in the summer. The photo was taken in 1959, I can be sure of this as I entered it into a school photo competition and was highly commended. After leaving the RAF he re-trained as  a teacher and taught at  a Primary School in Norwich.
