Blue Flower

During the usual volunteer days on the 7th and 14th of July excavation of the Blacksmiths Shop continued. Finds in this area included a shut knife and various metal finds.  During the digging a common lizard was disturbed and carefully relocated to a quiet area of the site.

On the 14th we were joined by volunteers from our local Swaffham Tesco's who will be volunteering on a regular basis.  We also welcomed Lisa our newest volunteer from Narborough village.

A bench seat was installed on the public footpath side of the river and had its first use within minutes by two walkers,  one from Pentney and her sister from Ireland.

We always welcome walkers to the site and on the 14th July three ladies from Wisbech ate their lunch on site, carefully watched by two swans who settled on the opposite bank.
